What are the H2 blockers?
A
- Cimetidine
- Ranitidine
- Famotidine

When should H2 blockers be taken?
A
at night before bed (dont eat after)- they arent effective for post-prandial acid suppression

What are the AEs of H2 blockers?
A
- CYP interactions (theophylline, diazepam, creatinine levels increased)
- antiandrogenic effects
- cross BBB (confusion, dizziness, etc.)

A
-omeprazole, lansoprazole, etc.

How do bismuth and sucralfate work?
A
they bind to ulcers and provide physical protection to allow HCO3- to reestablish a pH gradient
