***While the H2 Blockers (and PPIs) have similar properties, they are not interchangeable and each one offers a different array of drug properties and interactions. You may think of them as a class of medications but do NOT assume that if there is no drug interaction with ranitidine (Zantac) that there won't be an interaction if your patient switches to cimetidine (Tagamet)***
Counseling 2
H2 Blockers are antihistamines, don’t confuse them with allergy meds e.g. diphenhydramine (Benadryl), loratadine (Claritin) which are H1 blockers

Note
budesonide also comes as an inhaler (Pulmicort) for asthma.
