Abd bloating, bloody stool, constant urge to have BM.
Enteric Fever
Fever, HA, Malaise, anorexia
Hepato/Splenomegaly
May lead to intestinal perforation.
Food-BORNE
Any infection acquired FROM food.
Includes both sub-types
Food Infection/Food Assx infection
Pathogen MULTIPLIES within the gut.
Ecoli + Salmonella
This is the main type that VIRUS’ + PARASITE’s cause.
Food Poisoning/Food intoxication
Assx with TOXIN production by the pathogen. Does not always have to have a viable pathogen (improperly cooked food)
C.botulinum, S. aureus
