Autoimmune Hepatitis
(Type 1 & Type 2, Presentation, Labs, Diagnosis, Treatment)
A
Type 1: Adults 10-20 years old & 45-70 years old. ANA +ve, Anti-Smooth muscles antibodies +.
Type 2: Juvenile <15 years old. LKMI and anti LCl antibodies +ve
Deranged LFT and secondary amenorrhea
AST & ALT >10x normal. In 1000s
Associated with other AI diseases
Diagnosis of exclusion
IgG Hypergammaglobulinemia
Liver biopsy
Treatment: Steroids +/- azathioprine
