1st Person Narrator
Where the narrative is told using the pronoun ‘I’
2nd Person Narrator
Where the narrative view belongs to the person/people being addressed, using the pronoun ‘you’
3rd Person Narrator
Where the narrative view belongs to the people being talked about, using the pronouns ‘he’ and ‘she’. As such the narrator is not a participant in the action.
3rd Person: Omniscient
An all-knowing perspective of the story being told, including feelings and thoughts of the character.
3rd Person: Limited
Deals with a writer presenting events as experienced by only one character.
3rd Person: Objective
The story only conveys the external details of the character - never their inner thoughts or motivations.
Extradiegetic Narrator
Above or superior to the story narrated.
Heterodiegetic Narrator
A narrator that does not take part in the plot.
Intradiegetic Narrator
Inside the fictional world created by the story.

Word choice.
Register
The level of formality of a text.
Retrospective Narrative
The story is being told is not happening at the time the narrator is describing it, the events happened in the past.
Tenor
The tone, or the relationship between the author and reader and how it is created.
