What should you do with cuts?
Cover the cut with a blue waterproof plaster, this can be easily spotted if it has fallen into the food and the food can be discarded.
Before you begin to prepare food what should you do?
Wash your hands with warm soapy water
Make sure your shoelaces are tied
If you have long hair, tie it back.
What are three rules for personal hygiene?
Tie long hair back and avoid touching it during food preparation,
Avoid handling food if you are unwell,
Cover any cuts with blue waterproof plasters. Blue plasters can easily be seen if they fall into food, and the food can then be discarded.
When using the grill in school you must:
Preheat the grill with the door closed.
Not put the food to close to the elements at the top of the grill.
Use the grill pan handles when putting the grill pan under or taking it out of the grill.
Remove the grill pan handles before closing the door.
Keep the door closed when cooking food under the grill.
