Outline and Explain Smith and Jones
A
Smith and Jones are interviewing for the same job.
Smith overhears the company president say that Jones will get the job.
Smith also sees Jones count up ten coins and watches as he puts them in his pocket.
Smith makes the proposition “the person who has ten coins in his pocket will get the job.”
Smith and Jones then find out that Smith actually gets the job.
Smith also unknowingly had ten coins in his pocket.
In this case Smith has Justified True Belief, but it is collectively agreed upon that he does NOT have knowledge
