A
Germination refers to the process in which the embryo inside the seed grows and develops into a seedling using food stored in the cotyledons or endosperm.

What is the difference between hypogeal and epigeal germination
A
In epigeal germination, the cotyledons rise above the ground as the seedling grows while in hypogeal germination the cotyledons remain below the surface of the ground.
