Nationalism, however it was not fully the same. nazism was far right wing.
What effect did the Treaty of Versailles have on Germany?
It created war guilt and a rise in nationalism and militarism. The Germans felt humiliated by the loss of WW1
what were the main goals of the nazis?
- destroy communism
- destroy the treaty of Versailles
- unite the german speaking (Aryan race) people and gain more land to expand
what did Wilson’s 14 points lead Germany to believe?
they would be included in after-war/post-war life discussions. and they would be treated as an equal member. However, because of the treat of Versallies, they were betrayed and were not treated as equal.
what is autarky?
the move to be self-sufficient.
why did Germany bring in the idea of autarky?
Because they were heavily reliant on other countries, there were deficient payments because Germany was importing more goods than it was producing.
what was the horseback memorandum?
a meeting where Hitler declared his plans to go to war
what effect did the horseback memorandum have?
it increased the pace of radicalism
