How does lateral medullary syndrome present?
A
- Vestibular nucleus involvement:
- vertigo
- vomiting
- Oscillopsia
- Nystagmus - Restiform body and cerebellar involvement:
- Ataxia - Descending sympathetic involvement
- Horner syndrome - 9th and 10th cranial nerve involvment causes hoarseness and dysphagia
- Spinothalamic tract involvement causes pain and temperature involvement.
