Geometry Flashcards
Sum of all Triangles angles
180 degrees
Sum of circles angle
360 degrees
Sum of square and rectangles angles
360 degrees
Find the hypotenuse on right angled triangle
Pythagoras theorem (edit later with actual expotents)
A^2 + B^2 = C^2
Area of a triangle
Area = (Base x Height)/2
Area of Circle
Area = Pi r^2
Edit to look neat later
Circumference of circle
Circumference = 2 Pi r
OR
Pi D
(Edit to look neat)
Congruent means
Same as each other.
E.g. - congruent angles , lines, shapes etc.
Opposite angles
When angles are opposite they’re congruent (equal)
When 2 parallel lines are intercepted by another line….
In the top 4 angles:
Top and bottom angles (Y) congruent
Left and right angles (X) congruent.
The bottom 4 angles are identical to these angles.
ALSO: X+Y = 180 (think parallel line)
Vertice =
Corners
Sum of interior angles in an n-sided polygon =
(n-2)(180)
Equilateral triangle =
All sides and angles congruent
Isosceles Triangle
2 congruent sides 2 congruent angles
Hypotenuse =
The line opposite the right angle in a right angles triangle
