Describe San Juan Island
San Juan Island is the largest of the group at 13 M long and is rugged and partly wooded. Mt. Dallas, the highest of several hills on the island rises abruptly from the middle of the W side to a height of 1080 feet. The N end is indented by several small bays.
Describe Friday Harbor
Friday harbor is a horseshoe shaped cove 1 M long and nearly as wide with Brown Island in its middle. There is a marina, small boat anchorage, and a busy WSF terminal

Haro Strait is the westernmost waterway connecting the straits of Juan de Fuca and Georgia. It extends N from the S end of San Juan Island for about 18 M to Turn Point Light on Stuart Island.

Spieden channel leads E between Spieden Island on hte N and Battleship, Henry, and San Juan Island on the S. The channel leads from Haro Strait to President Channel and San Juan Channel.

Speiden Island is 2.5 M long running in an E direction witha n extreme width of .5M. The E end, Green Point is low and grassy marked by a light. The S side has few trees, but the N face is well wooded.

Stuart Island, NW of Spieden Island has 2 prominent hills 640 ft. high near the middle. Turn Pt. is the We pint of Stuart Island. It is bold, steep, and marked by a light 44 ft high on a 16ft. white tower.
