Swimming
A physical activity completed in a body of water
Water
A chemical molecule composed of two atoms of Hydrogen (H) and one atom of Oxygen (O). Needed for human survival. Can be found falling from the sky and in any body of water (lake, River, sea)
Ocean
The largest body of water in the world. Fills the hasp between countries.
Topography
Most often a map showing any physical features of an area (natural and man-made)
Logging
The process of chopping down trees in forests for use.
Tropical
A very hot and humid climate. Can most often be found near the equator
Wind
The movement of air. Often comes with a storm
Tundra
An area in Arctic Europe, Asia and North America where the terrain is flat and treeless and the subsoil conditions are permanently frozen, meaning that nothing can grow there
Grassland
Predominantly a paddock or other field that is filled with grass, can often be used for grazing livestock
Map
Can be either paper or electronic. Shows the features of land or can give you directions on where to go for something.
Weather
The state of the atmosphere at a particular place and time as regards heat, cloudiness, dryness, sunshine, wind, rain, etc.: if the weather’s good we can go for a walk
Climate
The weather conditions prevailing in an area in general or over a long period: our cold, wet climate. Agricultural development is constrained by climate.
Yield
The amount of food produced by a certain crop in a certain area
Nomadic
Has no home, moves around an area or place.
Subsistence
The action or fact of maintaining or supporting oneself, especially at a minimal level.
