Q

what is deforestation explain 3 reasons why it is occurring

A

deforestation is the cutting down of trees. it happens in the rainforest because:

  1. cattle ranching- herds of cattle need places to stay and eat grass, so they can be used for beef companies
  2. timber production- people cutting down trees for their wood to sell it and make things like houses, and money for workers
  3. mining - big companies want to reach valuable minerals and ores. so they chop down trees for space to do this. this is to make money

common theme all for money

21
Q

how are tempretures diffrent across the earths surface?

A

the tempretures are diffrent as ir tis hotter near to the equator this is because the lower the latitude the less atmosphere it has to pass through therefore the sun rays are more condense

22
Q

state 2 factors that can effect tempretures ( apart from latitude)

A

higher land is cooler
cloudy tempreture reduces temp

23
Q

how can the angle of sun rays effect a diffrence in tempreture

A

the angle of sun rays cause this diffrence in tempreture because if the rays are directly overhead at 90 degrees it will be warmer and if the sun rays are coming in at 45 degrees they have a further distance to travel therefore it is cooler.

In the summer, the sun is directly overhead and its rays hit the earth directly. In the winter months, the sun sits lower on the horizon. This causes the rays to hit the earth at an angle.
