What are the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)?

Purpose of MDGs?
Address extreme poverty and improve health, education, and equality.
When were MDGs established and ended?
Established in 2000, ended in 2015.
What are the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)?
17 global goals adopted in 2015 to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity.
Purpose of SDGs?
Global, holistic approach to development, focusing on sustainability and leaving no one behind.
Interconnectedness of SDGs?
Goals are interrelated; progress in one can benefit others.
When were SDGs established and when do they end?
Established in 2015, aimed to be achieved by 2030.
Difference between MDGs and SDGs?
- MDGs: 8 goals, poverty-focused, for poorest countries.
- SDGs: 17 goals, universal, holistic (economic, social, environmental).
