What is nephrotic syndrome?

A

Nephrotic syndrome is defined by the presence of proteinuria, oedema, hyperlipidaemia, and hypoalbuminaemia.

(It has serious complications and must be on the differential diagnosis for any patient presenting with new-onset oedema).
