What is ploidy?
A
Ploidy refers to the number of sets of chromosomes in a cell (n). Cells with one set of chromosomes (gametes) are haploid (n) and those with two (somatic body cells) are diploid (2n).

What are the differences between germline and somatic cells?

All cells used in reproduction in multicellular organisms are called germline cells. All other cells are somatic (body) cells
