humankind in his image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
What is the man free to do?
He is able to eat any fruit from any tree in the garden.
What is he not to do?
He can’t eat from the tree of Good and Evil.
What will happen if he disobeys?
The man will die.
What is the one thing that is “not good”, and what does the Lord God do about it?
‘It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper as his partner.’

The serpent said to the woman, “You will not die; for God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
What does Cain do to Abel, and why does he do it? What is Cain’s punishment of this?
Cain kills Abel due to jealousy because the Lord offered Abel regard and not Cain. Cain’s punishment is to be banished and he can’t be killed because God put a mark on him.
What does Genesis 6:5 says has happened to human nature?
They were doing evil acts against each other.
What decision did the Lord make in Genesis 6:7?
He would ‘blot’ them (wipe out the world with a flood).
How was Noah different from other people?
Noah was a righteous man.
Briefly describe Noah’s task.
To build an ark and take 7 pairs of all clean animals, a pair of unclean animals, and 7 pairs of birds of air, male with their mate. Noah should take his family and food that is easily stored.
When the flood waters receded, the ark came to rest on
the mountains of Ararat.
What did God promise in the covenant with Noah? What was the sign of this covenant?
He will not destroy Earth with a flood again. The sign of this covenant is a rainbow.
What did people try to do at the Tower of Babel?
They tried to build a tower to heaven.
What did they not want to do?
They didn’t want to scatter all over the world.
What did the Lord do, and what effect did it have?
He confuses their language and scatters them abroad over the face of all Earth.
What did the Lord call Abram to do?
He called him to go to a land in order to be blessed.
What did the Lord promise to Abram?
A great nation and to bless him. He will bless those who bless Abram and curse those who curse Abram.
What does the Lord promise to Abram? (Covenant with Abraham Part 1)
An unconditional promise to give the land of Canaan to Abram and his descendants.
Who was Hagar?
Sarai’s slave girl who sleeps with Abram in order for them to have children.
Who was Ishmael?
Hagar’s and Abram’s son.
What does God promise to Abraham? (Covenant with Abraham Part 2)
“to be God to you” which means God will have a special relationship with Abraham and his descendants. He will provide for them, protect them, and discipline them.
What must Abraham and his descendants do to enter this covenant?
Every male among Abraham need to be circumcised when they are 8 days old.

“Exalted Father”
Abraham meaning:
“Father of Many”

“Princess”
Sarah meaning:
“Princess”
What had the Lord decided to do with Sodom and Gomorrah, and why did he make this decision?
He decides to destroy them because of how they are acting (wicked and evil).
Summarize the conversation between God and Abraham in these verses, Genesis 18:22-23.
He questions how merciful God is.
