Explain how a gene codes for a protein
A
Exons within a gene code for a specific sequence of bases. A triplet of bases codes for 1 amino acid, therefore the sequence of bases in a section of DNA is responsible for the primary structure of the protein, and therefore it’s shape also.

A
double helix made up of sugar-phosphate backbones and complementary base pairs
