Q

Explain how a gene codes for a protein

A

Exons within a gene code for a specific sequence of bases. A triplet of bases codes for 1 amino acid, therefore the sequence of bases in a section of DNA is responsible for the primary structure of the protein, and therefore it’s shape also.
