Why is Islam relevant today?

1. Allah is transcendent - outside time and space - therefore his will is always relevant
2. Ummah - lining modern life with history builds sense of identity and community
3. 5 pillars still relevant for all
4. All are equal before Allah - Islam means submission - submitting to Allah gaurentees Akhirah - everlasting life after death

Why is it difficult to follow Islam today?

Answer 2

1. Clash between Islam and society Muslims are living in
2. Praying 5 times a day can be difficult if you work in a non-muslim environment
3. Saw is harder to do in some countries due to length of daylight hours
4. Hajj is expensive - not all can afford to go
5. Shari’ah law and local law can be very different
6. Prophet Muhammad lived 1300 years ago - life is very different now
7. Qur’an still relevant but difficult to understand as was given 1300 years ago.
