General Questions Flashcards
What do you think is the greatest challenge your generation faces today, and how
do you think it can be overcome?
What my generation has difficulty facing today is the hurdle that is present in engaging others to participate in activities whether it be f2f or online that may give people the help they need. A lack of empathy regarding social issues is one of the factors that contribute to the difficulty of this challenge. I have seen various people skip those videos and advertisements online that talk about how watching it can help them even by a tiny bit. As for how it can be overcome, I believe that the current way of engaging the youth with field work like in NSTP or DMH is an efficient and effective way in fostering their empathy for other people in various situations.
How would you use your platform as a pageant winner to inspire your fellow
students and others in your community?
I would inspire them
If you could have dinner with one historical figure, who would it be and what
would you ask them?
I would like to have dinner with Leonardo Da Vinci.
If given the opportunity to speak to young people today, what important message
would you like to share with them?
I would like to share with them a message that talks about how expectations are not necessarily a bad thing. While there are expectations that negatively affect people, we also have to learn how to differentiate healthy expectations from unhealthy ones. Learning how we can differentiate expectations and incorporate them into our way of life can be a key factor in improving our attitudes and personalities toward life. I do realize that i am privileged when compared to other ppl and i am sometimes expected to succeed noh and achieve. I treat this as sort of a healthy expectation since it keeps me on my toes and stops me from being complacent because it lets me know that i have opportunities that i did not work for that ppl would kill to have.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
The best piece of advice I have ever received is “make every second count”.
In your opinion, what does it mean to be true to oneself?
The ability to be true to oneself is learned when a person knows how to moderate one’s temper and virtue according to the situation. You can’t just get mad anytime you want. You have to learn when to get mad and when to control it. Being true to oneself does not mean you do whatever you want. It also means that you know how to acknowledge your emotions and know what necessary actions you can take for yourself that does justice to your emotions.
What is your greatest strength, and how do you apply it in your life?
I can say that I am a really emotionally resilient person. As a very late child when compared to the age of his cousins, I have fortunately experienced a lot of spoiling by my titas and titos and I have also unfortunately seen them pass away. It was really hard to experience those types of things when I was young but I didn’t have any negative emotions regarding it naman. I just felt sad na “awhhh i cant talk to them anymore” “I miss hugging them and playing with them” So, it was kind of nice din na I learned earlier how to not dwell that deeply on negative experiences.
What inspires you to be the best version of yourself?
I could say that the best version of myself is rooted from the various expectations people have of me. Yeah, it does pressure me that I have to fit their expectations but I also know when I can allow myself to act according to my expectations too. I also think it’s fun to try to surpass what other people expect of me. I also think it’s an inherent trait of mine to try my hardest to be the best
What do you think is the importance of youth engagement in addressing social
issues?
Oh I think the importance of youth engagement in addressing social issues is the fact or like the saying na “the youth inherit the earth”. Bale the youth will eventually shape the world as they see fit whether it be the consequences of the actions of the older generation or make changes to the system of the older generation.
