Episcleritis
- acute onset
- mild irritation
- young patients, often w/o systemic disease
- Tx topical lubricants, NSAIDs
Scleritis
- Subacute redness, diffuse
- Severe pain
- +/- visual impairment
- elderly, with systemic disease (~50%)
- Tx eval underlying disease, topical steroids +/- immunosuppressant therapy
