Q

What’s the difference between crashing and fast-tracking?

A

In project planning, you can complete an activity at a normal or at an accelerated pace. Expediting project activities is known as crashing. When you reduce assigned time and cost for an activity, you create crash time and crash cost. Crashing usually results in increased costs because of escalating resources.

Fast tracking involves performing activities simultaneously. When you know the float time for each activity, assessing the impact of fast tracking is straightforward.
