Elevation of body temp that exceeds normal daily variation and occurs with conjunction with increase in hypothalamic set point.
Temp greater than 98.9°f at 6 am or 99.9°f .
at 4-6pm
When hypothalamic set point is raised body is perceived to ve cooler and accommodation measures like shivering is started
Continuous fever
Fever do not fluctuate more than 1°c during 24 hrs but do not touch baseline
