- USA and Britain invading Nazi- occupied Europe.
- soviet union would declare war on Japan once Germany was defeated
- Poland gained territory from Germany and would loose it to the Soviet Union
- set the scene for the establishment of the United Nations.
When and what was the yalta conference?
February 1945
- Germany would be reduced in size, divided and demilitarised. Pay for reparations
- Europe would be rebuilt and countries would have democratic elections.
- United Nations was set up
- soviet declared war on Japan when Germany was defeated
- Poland would be under the soviet sphere of influence but run on a broader democratic basis

July-August 1945
- a council foreign ministers was set up to help rebuild Europe
- the nazi party was banned and war criminals would be prosecuted.

- Soviet Union was to be set up to receive 25% of the output from the other 3 zones.

- the USA wanted world domination and was building military

- the USA was preparing its people for war with the ussr

Truman promised that the USA would provide aid to any country taking stand against communism

What was the Marshall plan?
Money helping the economies of Western Europe recover after WW2 and make them less likely to fall prey to communism

What was the Berlin blockade?
Cutting off all land and river transit between West Berlin and West Germany

What was cominform?
An alliance of European communist parties to help them plan and to work together and spread Stalin‘s ideas
