Systemic inflammatory Response (SIRS) criteria - when 2 or more of the following is present
- Temp less than 36 or greather than 38
- HR greater than 90 BPM
- RR greater 20 RPM
Sequential Organ Failure Assessment ( qSOFA) - HAT
H- Hypotention
A- Altered Mental Status GCS less than 15
T- Tachypnea RR greater than 22
Hypothermia is defined as a core temp of less than ?
35 Celsius
Broncospasm Treatment
MILD
1 Puff Salbuamol every 30-60 seconds max of 30 puffs
1 Puff Atrovent every 30-60 seconds to a Max of 15 Puffs
500 ML bolus and 250 ml/hr maintenance drip
SEVERE
5 mg nebulized Salbutamol every 30-60 seconds
5 mg Atrovent nebulized every 5 mins to a max of 15 mg or 1 puff every 30-60 secs to a max of 15 puffs
Naloxone Doses
0.05 iv every 2 mins to a max of 1 mg
0.8 IM every 5 mins to a max of 3.2 mg
Or 2 mg Intranasal to a max of 4 mg
Grossly abnormal vital signs in fire fighter assessment
BP greater than 180 mmHg Systolic or 120 mmHg Diastolic
HR greater than 120, threads or irregular
Respiratory rate greater than 20 per min
Sp02 less than 94 % on room air
Temp greater than 38 or less than 36
Fire fighter assessment - advice incident command of the need to further rehab or transport if:
-Grossly abnormal vital signs
- Altered LOC
-Wheezing or congested
-spCO greater than 5% in non-smokers or greater than 10% in smokers
-s/s of dehydration
-Vomitting or Diarrhea
- Insulin dependant diabetic that hasn’t eaten in 4 hours
- Large wound, fracture, dislocation, significant injury
Critical Burns
- Burns involving 20% or greater of BSA
- Any full thickness burn involving 5% or greater BSA
-Any Partial or full thickness burn to face, neck, hands, perineum, involving major joint or feet - Any burn with potential airway involvement
- High voltage electrical burns
- Chemical burns
- Radiation Burns
