Tell us about yourself.
My name is Omar Elzerd, I am 26 years old and originally from Tetouan. I pursued my education in industrial engineering at the Faculty of Science and Technology of Tangier, where I earned a bachelor’s degree after completing a DEUST in electrical and mechanical engineering.
Before that, I lived in Egypt for 8 years, where I studied mechanical engineering and actively participated in various associative and volunteering work. I am passionate about the field of industry because it includes many other areas such as quality, maintenance, continuous improvement (KAIZEN) and project management.
For the past 2 years, I worked in the Social Protection service at the Ministry of the Interior in Wilaya Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima. This role significantly enhanced my leadership, my ability to work under a lot of stress, crisis management and team management skills, as I was coordinating with various stakeholders., where efficiency and attention to detail are important. And because I learn quickly and adapt well, I was given a variety of tasks beyond my main responsibilities in social protection, such as writing reports and making passports, which allowed me to gain experience in multitasking and handling different challenges.
I’ve been in my current role for 2 years and have learned a lot. I’m passionate about the industrial sector and want to focus on a field I’m truly interested in and it’s time for a new challenge. I’m particularly excited about the opportunity to work at your company because it aligns perfectly with my career goals.
What motivates you in your work?
I’m driven by the opportunity to learn and grow. Every challenge I face is a chance to develop new skills and gain knowledge. Working with a team where we can share ideas, support each other, and achieve common goals together is incredibly fulfilling to me. This continuous learning process keeps me motivated and excited about work.
Describe your leadership style.
My leadership style is results-oriented. I set clear goals and expectations, and I work closely with my team to ensure that we meet or exceed them. I believe in being accountable, and I expect the same from my team. However, I also understand the importance of providing support and removing obstacles so that the team can focus on delivering high-quality results.
How do you handle stress and pressure?
I handle stress by maintaining a positive attitude and staying focused on solutions rather than problems. I remind myself that challenges are a natural part of any job, and I approach them with a problem-solving mindset. Staying positive helps me keep stress in check and motivates me to push through difficult situations.
What are your strengths and weaknesses?
I have a strong ability to analyze situations and identify solutions quickly, which is a significant strength in a supervisory role. Whether it’s resolving conflicts, addressing performance issues, or finding ways to improve efficiency, I’m able to approach problems with a clear, logical mindset and guide my team toward effective solutions. I can sometimes be impatient when progress is slow or when things don’t move as quickly as I’d like. I’m highly results-driven, and I want to see my team succeed. However, I’ve learned to be more patient and understanding, recognizing that different tasks and people require different paces to achieve the best outcomes.
How do you prioritize tasks and manage your time effectively?
I align my tasks with both short-term and long-term goals, as well as any upcoming deadlines. I make sure that the tasks that contribute most to achieving key objectives are given top priority. This alignment helps me stay on track and ensures that my efforts are contributing directly to the success of the team or project.
Why do you think you are the right candidate for this position?
I’m highly adaptable and excel at solving complex problems. In fast-paced environments, I’ve consistently demonstrated the ability to think on my feet and deliver results under pressure. This adaptability, combined with my strong analytical skills, makes me well-suited to handle the dynamic challenges of this position.
