What preliminaries?
Preliminaries provide a description of the project.
allows a contractor to assess costs which, whilst they do not form part of any package of works, are required to undertake the work.
Include costs relating to the following
The site
The works
Contract Conditions
Management of the works
Security, health and safety
Site setup and welfare requirements
What is a specification
Describes the materials and workmanship required for the project
What are Preambles
Preambles are used to provide an explanation on how a document is to be used
What is a schedule of work?
A schedule of works provides an instructional list of the works required.
- allow the contractor to identify any significant work and materials that will
be required. - References to requirements around quality criteria are provided through supporting specifications.
- The location and size of the project is provided on accompanying drawings.
