What is a SMM?

When is it sent?

What does it do?

A

Slot missed message

Sent by AO or FMP on behalf of AO when:
- the CTOT cannot be made, and
- the new EOBT is not known

This suspends the flight, an FLS is shown in the OP Log and is also sent to the tower. They should make sure the flight does not depart.

On entry into the system, then every 30 minutes from 12 hours to 1 hour before EOBT. If an error is found due to an environment change then the flight is suspended.

How does an AO handle being FLS due to FAM?
A DLA must be sent with the new EOBT. A SAM or DES will be sent in reply. If the flight will not operate a CNL must be sent.
