Gene expression Flashcards
1
Q
Causes of mutations leading to cancer
A
Hypermethylation - tumour suppressor genes not transcribed, mRNA not translated to produce cell division slowing proteins. Cell divides uncontrollably, tumours can develop.
Hypomethylation -

Q
Hardy-Weinberg principle
A
Hardy-Weinberg principle is true if population is large, no immigration or emigration of population, no mutations or natural selection and random mating.
