Can cause us to make unfair judgements.

A

The ASA (advertising standards authority) is the UK’s independent regulator of advertising across all media.

Combats misleading, harmful or offensive advertisements.

How is sex used negatively?

A

When it is used in advertising (sex sells) certain values and attitudes towards sex are being ‘sold’ to consumers along with the product that are not always positive.

Women eroticised more than men to sell product.
Eg. Lynx attract deodorant.

On the internet, pornographic material that has a high usage among young males could encourage in appropriate attitudes about the availability of women.

A

The equality act (2010) ensures that you can’t discriminate against men/ women based on their sex for jobs etc..

More likely to be in part-time temporary contracts.

Could argue that more women are going to university so seek more part time roles?
