  • Suddenly you hardly breathin’ (dyspnea)
  • you coughing up blood, and (hemoptysis)
  • you have plu-plu (pleuritic) chest pain

Testing: d-dimer (+) and the lung perfusion scan or CT scan will confirm it for ya ;)

mitral StenoSiS (opening Snap) no pain tho

  • snap best heard at 5th I.C. space on left
  • diastolic snap
  • mid-clavicular line

Patient presents with no chest pain necessarily but when you hear their heart sounds, it’s a PANsystolic murmur going on?
Where is the location of the heart sound?
Which mitral is this (NO PAIN, PAN)

A

Mitral is just INCOMPETENT if it don’t have no paaain MAN! (Mitral Incompetence)

best heard in the left 5th I.C. space mid-clavicular line

PROLAPSE, oh no!! This one is more serious and has chest PAIN! uh oh

  • Unknown origin
  • Marfan’s syndrome sometimes
  • mid-systolic murmur

There is subacute bacterial endocarditis caused by the bacteria Streptococcus viridans, just to name a few

Okay then what does a SUB acute endo strepto present with big dawg?

A

SUB
CLUB (clubbed fingers)
SUB splinters at the SUB level of the nails (splinter hemorrhages that look like blood lines under the nails)
And will have SPlenomegaly

They also present w/ all the other stuff like fatigue, fever, the norms, but I need to focus more on what stands out
