Tx of colon CA mets to liver
A
most common site of distant mets. 5 year survival = 50% in patients who undergo resection for hepatic mets. Pt is considered respectable if all disease can be resected with negative margins and a sufficient healthy remnant liver remaining with adequate vasclar inflow, outflow, and biliary drainage. Chemo recmended in peri operative period. Can be administered adjuvantly following resection or it can be offered for a short duration as neo-adjuvant therapy.
