Gastrointestinal (Digestive System)
The gastrointestinal, or digestive system, is responsible for digesting the food we eat and absorbing the nutrient molecules.
Whta is the pathway that food takes in which the digestive system does it function?
Mouth ==> pharynx ==> esophagus ==> stomach ==> intestine ==> colon ==> rectum ==> anus
What else besides the main tract organs does digestion require?
Digestion also requires the assistance of accessory organs, the liver, gallbladder, and pancreas.

The branch of medicine specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and conditions affecting the lower gastrointestinal (GI) tract, which includes the organs between the esophagus and rectum.
