how much is HER2 expressed in adenocarcinoma- better or worse prognosis
in 20%. worse prognosis. blocked by trastuzumab (Herceptin)
what are the types of gastric cancer
macroscopic, localised, polypoid, ulcerating, stricturing
signs
weight loss, anaemia, pyloric obstruction, haematemesis, dyspepsia, mets
where are the main metastases
liver, ovaries, cervical lymph nodes
what are gastrointestinal stromal tumours
in the wall of the GIT, commonest in the stomach. may ulcerate, bleeding, obstruction
