Gas Exchange Flashcards
What are the 2 parts of the Vascular bundle
Xylem and phloem
What is the Function of the stomata?
Allows gases to come in or out.
What is the function of the guard cell?
Allows the stomata to open or close.
What is transpiration pull?
It uses cohesion and adhesion to pull water molecules up to the xylem to the leaves.
two types of phloem cells
Sieve Tube cells and Companion Cells.
Where are sinks found?
They are found in leaves, fruits and stems.
What is cellular respiration?
chemical reaction in which the energy stored in glucose is transformed into ATP.
Where does cellular respiration happens?
Happens in the mitochondria.
What does photosynthesis produce?
Oxygen and glucose
What can help with a transpiration pull
When the stomata is open, water will evaporate out.
