You are not eligible to compete if you knowingly participate in any sports wagering activity that involves
intercollegiate, amateur or professional athletics, through a bookmaker, a parlay card or any other method employed by organized gambling.
Types of sport wagers that violate NCAA rules include, but are not limited to
fantasy leagues, March Madness brackets, Super Bowl squares, Calcuttas, sports pools, online sports bets, sports betting apps, parlay and prop bets, live in-game betting and single game sports bets.
The following individuals shall not knowingly participate in sports wagering activities or provide information to individuals involved in or associated with any type of sports wagering activities concerning intercollegiate, amateur or professional athletics competition
Staff members of an institution’s athletics department, Non-athletics department staff members who have responsibilities within or over the athletics department , Staff members of a conference office, student athletes
Sports wagering applies to any practice or competition (intercollegiate, amateur, professional) in a sport in which
the NCAA conducts a championship.
Sportsbook/bookmaker; person/establishment that takes bets from customers.
Book
Person who accepts bets illegally and charges a commission.
Bookie
A wager in which multiple teams are bet, either against the spread or on the money line.
Parlay
Student-athletes who violate NCAA sports wagering rules will be
ineligible for competition, subject to appeal to the Committee on Student-Athlete Reinstatement.
