What was Gallipoli?

A

Gallipoli was a battle where soldiers from Australia and New Zealand attacked the Ottomans in Turkey at dawn on the 25th of april 1915.

What went wrong there?

A

When they were arriving they arrived at the wrong place and they arrived at a very fortified Turkish position. Where the soldiers had to climb up a steep hill.

How did it make an impact to the rest of the war?

A

It impacted the war by drawing Ottoman troops away from more important Caucasus front.

What made it go wrong?

A

When they arrived at the wrong place they suffered heavy losses and then they ran up the hill and got separated which made it harder to dig in and make trenches.

A

Yes, because it helped draw the Turkish troops away from the front lines which over all helped to defeat the triple alliance.
