Q

what are some potential problems that could affect intital contact

A

foot slap (L4, dorsiflexion)

excessive trunk extension (glute max) (Lurch gait - ineffective glute max. they will lean backwards during terminal swing/initial contact.)

equinus deformity

plantar flexor spacticity

forward trunk lean - reason for this is for weak quadriceps.
