A
- Focal epilepsies, usually as an add-on to other drugs
- Neuropathic pain
- Gabapentin- migraine prophylaxis
- Pregabalin- generalised anxiety disorder

A
Binds to voltage dependent calcium channels, preventing influx and therefore reduces neuronal excitability

Important adverse effects
A
Drowsiness, dizziness and ataxia

A
Use with benzos increases sedative effects

How should gabapentin/pregabalin be prescribed?
A
Oral administration, starting with low dose
