What are postal strones?
Ships travelled to and from the east and left letters wrapped in oilskins under a postal stone.
How did we communicate through runners?
Slaves carried letters in a cleft stick and run from farm to farms.
How did we communication through horseback riders?
As distance grew between communities horseback riders rode between them delivering letters.
How did we communicate through stage/mail coaches?
Stage coaches traveled between towns and carried passengers.
What are seven types of modern communication?
Post Radio Typewriters Telegraph Telephone Camera Personal Computer (PC)
What does the Post System do?
Sends letters and parcels.
How did the first people deliver the post?
Ran with messages, then animals were used to get the messages faster.
Why do you have to buy a postage stamp?
To pay for sending the letter.
How do radios work?
Changes sounds or signals into radio waves which travel through air, space and solid objects.
The radio receiver then changes them back into the sounds, words and music we hear.
In 1895 who invented the first wireless telegraph?
Guglielmo Marconi.
He used radio waves to transmit Morse Code.
Why was the first radio called a wireless telepgraph?
Because it was not attached to wires.
What is a typewriter?
A typewriter is a small machine that people used to write printed words on a piece of paper.
Some of the benefits of typewriters:
Help blind people write letters. Quicker then writing by hand. Print was easier to read than handwriting Could make more than one copy Could type in capital letters

No.
