2
Q

what is the problem in farming from ocean ecosystems

A

the bottom of the food chain is usually targeted, meaning the animals at the top also dont hav enough and die as a secondary result of overfishing, disturbing aquatic food chains

6
Q

what is the problem of overfishing?

A

more fish are caught that can be replenished, which can upset the balance of ecosystems (example, bluefin tuna are nearly extinct)

7
Q

why are poisons and explosives used, and why are they a problem?

A

they are used to stun the fish to make them easier to catch, but it can also poison ecosystems, killing habitats and other ocean creatures unnecasarily

Q

what are fish farms, include advantages and disadvantages

A

oceanic cages/indoor pools where fish are grown for farming as a solution to ocean fishing problems.
+reduces problems caused by ocean fishing
-fish sewage contains uneaten food, waste and disease and pathogens
