COCP

A

COPC is not usually recommended unless the more appropriate option is not available or acceptable

  • there is a conflicitng results from clinical trials on the effect of COPC on the volume of milk produced in lactating women,
  • there is no effect of infant weight reported
  • not recommendend 6 weeks PP increased risk of VTE

  1. implants 99% safe immediate
  2. IUD 99% but post placental higher rated vs @6weeks
  3. mirena. help with heavy bleeding 99% expulsion and perforation with BF
  4. barriers - 82%
  5. depo provera 97% 12 weeks
  6. POP 91%
  7. lactation amenorrhoea 98% if amenorrhoic 52d, exclusively breastfeeding, < 6weeks PP
