"Future" Questions Flashcards
I realize it’s still early in your career – you haven’t even graduated yet – but have you given any thought to your long-term plans? Do you think you’ll stick with investment banking?
I believe so, yes. Through extensive research and exposure to individuals in investment banking, I’ve realized that nothing excites me more than the deal process. Advising companies, preparing them to go public, and engaging in various valuation processes are all aspects that truly excite me. I am passionate about playing a central role in these transactions and look forward to not only making a significant impact but also eventually finding and securing my own clients.
What is your career goal?
I am eager to get involved in banking and the deal-making process to understand and eventually play a key role in securing clients and meeting their needs. Investment banking offers the fastest way to gain extensive knowledge in a short span of time. While I can’t predict exactly what I’ll be doing in 5 to 10 years, I know that starting as a summer analyst at [BANK] and securing a return offer will set me up exceptionally well.
Looking into the future 10 years, do you think you’ll still be an investment banker?
While I can’t predict exactly where I’ll be 10 years from now, I hope to remain somewhat involved in the deal-making process. I believe that whatever path I decide on, starting off as a summer analyst at [BANK] and eventually securing a return offer will set me up quite well going forward.
