Dermatophytes, particularly Trichophyton rubrum and Trichophyton mentagrophytes, are the most common cutaneous fungal pathogens, accounting for approximately 90% of nail infections [2]. Non-dermatophyte patho- gens are fungi with known habitats in soil, decaying plant debris, or plant disease.
