What are 5 main features of fungi?
A
- They do not make their own food but get their nutrients by absorbing food from an outside source.
- They are mainly multicellular.
- They are composed of threads called hyphae, which combine to form a visible, fluffy mass called a mycelium.
- Their cell (or hyphal) walls are made of a carbohydrate called chitin.
- They reproduce by spores.
