death is a transitioning to yet another rebirth and living participate in acts that transfers merit ( good karma ) to departed either providing for a better rebirth or for the relief of suffering in the departed new existence
how does a buddhist funeral go
making a offering to an altar , chanting , transfers of merit , poring water into a overflowing cup , a monk , reflecting on annica , burial , cremation

at the hour of death the king and the beggar are exactly equal but who is the richer at the time of the death ? if the beggar has created more merits then although he looks materially poor , he is really the rich man
