In short acupuncture points can be located by proportion measurements are by using anatomical landmarks or buy very commonly used in cuns
All about Daichi spelled DE QI
Meaning of training or grasping the QI
What does the practitioner feel during DI QI
Fish biting the hook
What does the patient feel during DI QI
Soreness distention numbness heaviness pressure fullness spreading and tingling warm or cool Itching insects crawling water air flooring
The factors affecting Daichi DI QI
The patient’s condition - usually elderly weak and chronically ill patients have weaker Daichi often it changes as the condition improves
Unknown reasons some patients are immune to the arrival of d’Ici for no apparent reason
Different areas of the body usually the extremities are more sensitive to DI QI it and the larger muscles
Needles - thicker needles produce a bigger sensation.
The difference between DI QI and pain
What can cause pain and what to do about it.
Different areas the body will elicit different sensation
Needling into shallow tissue such as the face most likely to indent and induce a distending sensation
Needling in the deep muscle such as the hamstring is likely to induce a sore sensation
A number of factors can contribute to pain which is totally different from DI QI
If the pain on penetration of the skin …. it could be due to poor needling technique such as slow insertion a dull needle or the needle penetrated a sore spot on the skin.
Didn’t mean if pain is felt on deep insertion
Hitting an artery or a vein. If that happens immediately remove the needle and re-insert the needle few millimeters away from the spot. Also use a different angle.
The pain could also be caused by rotating the needle over the muscle fiber.
What are the methods of obtaining DI QI
Changing the needle adapt that is either inserting needle deeper or slightly withdrawing it
change the direction of the needle
Lift enters the needle gently next paragraph insert and writing in the needle for a short time then try again to obtain DI QI
Twirl the needle in one direction more than 360° repeat a couple of times if necessary
Scrape with needle of the index finger
