Fundamental Principles &logic Flashcards
Law of similia
Law of similia existed as natures law before Hahne, stated as similia similibus curanter - likes cures likes
#Hahne modified, therapeutically applicable, harmless as Similia similibu curentur - let like be cured by likes
#We find nature law in 26 th aphorism
Law of simplex - only single remedy
Homeopathy support mono-pharmacy ie prescribing administering only single simple remedy at a time⌚
#Hahne vexed with complex mixture of medicine of his time , in aphorism 247 he insted law of simplex
Law of simplex - aphorism 247
” It is wrong to attempt, employ complex means when simple means suffice “ Crude drug substance available in nature considered as single drug substance either for drug proving or practice
Law of minimum dose
(Minutest dose of medicine)
Minimum doses brings curative reaction in vital force without damage
#Hahne used large doses but yrs went experience taught small doses cure
#quantity of drug required is in reverse ratio to the similarity ; grater similarity of symptoms minimum drug
Arndt Schultz’s law
1) Weak stimuli excites physiological action of substance
2) moderate one favours the reaction
3) strong stimuli retard or abolish action altogether
Advantages of minimum dose
1) to avoid unwanted medicinal aggra
might trouble suffering patient
2) minute dose produces uncommon, peculiar, mental symptoms
3) prevent organic damge
4) protect patient from drug addiction
Doctrine of drug proving
Process of administration of drugs to healthy humans of different ages different Constitution, both sexes #with purpose of observing compiling recording their sick making and sick curing properties
Advantages of human drug proving over animals
1) drug effect on mind intellect studied
2) animal can’t explain subjective mental symptoms fear, desire, aversion
3) effect of drug differ due to anatomy
4) modalities intellectual symptoms ❌
5) qualitative study ie taste smell ❌
Drug proving should not be done in sick becoz
1) curative effect of drug neutralize symptoms of sick person
2) symptoms of sick mix with symptom of drug & produce mixed symptoms
Doctrine of chronic diseases
Theory of chronic diseases introduced in 4th edition in year 1829
Inspite of giving similimum some cases had bad recurrence he investigated for 12 yrs & concluded miasm are basic fundamental cause of all disease
Chronic diseases - miasm
Miasm - dynamic disease causing power, 3miasms psora syphilis sycosis
Psora- fundamental destructive oldest
# Unless these miasms are removed patient can’t be cured from illness
Doctrine of vital force
Disease caused due to derangement of vital force by dynamic diseases producing power, miasm
In healthy condition VF maintain norm function of body, maintain harmony
In disease VF is 1st thing deranged by miasm, symptoms produced by VF
Doctrine of dynamisation
Introduced in 5th edition 1833
Dynamisation is process by which medicinal curative properties of crude drugs brought out which are latent
#2 process triturition - insoluble subs
Succession - soluble substance
Advantages of dynamisation
1) ⬇️quantitative subs, ⬇️aggravation
2) arouse medicinal property of crude
3) action of potentised medicine is
deeper, longer, widespread
4) dynamisation ⬇️material part of medicine to an incredible degree
Theory of individualisation
Process of understanding differentiating a person both in health disease from other person of his grp based on peculiar, uncommon features
# Individualisation came from Greek word individuous - not divisible
