What is emotional support?
Provides love, care and support necessary for family members. Family is the focal point of our emotional life.
What is “educational” as a family function?
The education process starts at home by learning basic things and how to conduct oneself needed for entry into school. Then the learning is transitioned to school in a formal aspect.
In terms of education, what are the parents also responsible for?
Reviewing work done, and giving advice on a variety of topics.
What is “economic function” as a family function?
Families provide finances to obtain basic needs such as food, shelter and clothing.
This function isn’t always the responsibility of the parent, as siblings and other family members can take charge of this responsibility.
It can also potentially teach values like money management.
Name 3 ways parents can show they care for their children.
- Can implement corrective measures/punishments once a child does something wrong and to encourage them not to repeat the action.
- Can provide emotional support when the child needs advice, in distress etc. It provides a sense of emotional security.
- Can educate their children academically and push them to do well and support them when they don’t. Parents can also educate them on the right morals, values and ethics to have to be a respectable and respectful person.
How can children show that they care for their parents?
By being obedient to their instructions that provide structure and help with the child(ren)’s overall well-being and wanting to help their parents willingly when needed and do their best to please them
In what ways do parents shower wealth on their children?
By enrolling them in a private educational institution, and purchasing the needed supplies, going on vacations, taking them out
